Ozone Pulping System for Biowaste: Towards Sustainable Packaging Solutions

Problem Statement:

Existing technology allows pulp paper products (e.g., packaging) to be made from natural waste  materials (e.g., strawberries). However, the material pulping process is energy intensive, and  requires either mechanical and chemical efforts to extract the usable cellulose and lignin.

Expectations:

Design, manufacture, and test a pulping system that utilizes a commercial ozone reactor. This  system will be implemented after preliminary mechanical pulping (see figure below). The goal is  to create ozone treated pulp, which can then be turned into packaging.
