What are DSI Projects?
- Design for Social Impact projects are initiated by faculty like you!
- Proposals may be extensions of existing research initiatives, or new exploratory projects.
- Project issues must be multidisciplinary in nature, requiring 2 or more fields to collaborate. We’re receptive to a broad spectrum of project possibilities that engage students from Engineering, Business, Liberal Arts, and beyond!
- Large enough scope to engage 5 - 15 students at a time.
- These projects will yield some form of social impact.

How do I get started?
- Propose a project on our Intake Form
- The DSI Multidisciplinary Project Administrator will follow up shortly and seek more clarifying information if necessary.
- If approved, you’ll help create a one-page project document to add to our dossier for DSI students to browse and select from for their team’s project work.

DSI Points of Contact
- DSI 310 (Coming Soon) and DSI 415 Design Courses connect student teams with faculty projects. Visioning and preliminary design are conducted over the duration of the term.
- DSI 403 (Thesis) and DSI 406 (Project) enables students to work with faculty on interdisciplinary research and get credit!
- DSI project teams also make a great multidisciplinary extension to any other Senior Capstone project team including ENGR 415/416 and MIME 497/498.
